Radiographic/ X-Ray Technician (Limited) with Medical Assisting: (A hospital/ clinical site & classroom based License/ Certification Program)


This program consists of two modules as listed below:

Module I: Clinical Medical Assisting
The Medical Assistant program prepares students for an entry-level position in the medical field as a multi- skilled Medical Assistant, front and/or back office assistant in clinics, hospitals and doctor’s offices. Medical Assisting is projected to be one of the fastest growing occupations over 2004 to 2014 period. The program includes classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences.

Module II: Radiographic/ X-Ray Technician (Limited)
This module is designed to instruct the student in the professional field of Limited Radiology/ X-Ray. The student will learn skills such as Radiation Use & Safety, Positioning & Techniques and a detailed introduction to Limited Radiography. The program will encompass professional and clinical duties for the Limited X-Ray Technician and Clinical Medical Assistant. Employment opportunities include: Radiology/X-Ray Technician (Limited Scope) in medical offices, chiropractic offices, X-ray facilities, MRI Centers with X-ray units, and with portable X-ray operation companies. The program includes classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences.

Students may choose the Clinical Internship opportunities provided by the College or they may arrange their own Clinical Site. A Clinical Site arranged by a student for himself/herself must be approved by the College. College reserves the right to assign a student to any available Clinical Site. Students are required to complete their clinical requirements as per the assignment.
